At the age of eight, Jaeden Martell moved with his mother across the country from Philadelphia to Los Angeles. He never expected that this adventure would lead him into a life of acting. Without any classes or formal training, he began to work on a number of commercials which led to a burgeoning film career.

2019 has been a prolific year. He is currently in production on the Apple+ original series DEFENDING JACOB, about a boy accused of murdering his classmate, playing the title character. He will next be seen reprising his role in IT: CHAPTER 2 and in Rian Johnson’s star-studded murder mystery KNIVES OUT. Other films releasing this year include the psychological thriller THE LODGE that premiered at Sundance, the A24 drama LOW TIDE that premiered at Tribeca, and the coming of age tale THE TRUE ADVENTURES OF WOLFBOY.

In 2017, he played the title character in THE BOOK OF HENRY as a child genius, and Clive In 2017, he played the title character in THE BOOK OF HENRY as a child genius, and Clive Owen’s son in the father-son misadventure THE CONFIRMATION. Prior to that he worked with acclaimed director Cameron Crowe on ALOHA and on Jeff Nichols’ sci-fi film MIDNIGHT SPECIAL. At 10 years old, he made his feature film debut in the comedy hit ST. VINCENT starring alongside Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy which garnered him critical acclaim and a Critics’ Choice nomination for ‘Best Young Actor.’ In addition to his work in film, Martell had a recurring role in the award-winning Showtime series MASTERS OF SEX.
