Briana Rivera
Digital Community Engagement Manager

Briana Rivera is a storyteller and videographer from Mid-city Los Angeles. She is a first generation college graduate, holding a bachelors in Broadcast and Electronic communication with a minor in Race and Resistance studies from San Francisco State University. With her work in film, Briana has sought to push the stories of individuals that come from non-traditional backgrounds.

While studying film in the Bay, Briana  discovered her passion not only within storytelling but working with youth as she saw a bit of herself within each individual. She’s worked with youth from many backgrounds such as system-impacted youth, foster youth, and middle/high school students that have faced adversity.  After graduating she decided to move back to LA from the Bay area and put her energy into giving back to the community that shaped her. In Los Angeles she worked in homeless services assisting transitional age youth connect to housing, employment, and resources. One of the quotes she lives by is “Be who you needed when you were younger.” Her aim is to continue to empower youth to pursue their dreams and connect them to resources that will set them up for success.

Outside of work, she runs her passion project Roots of the City, with the aim of unifying the community through give-back events, storytelling, and creating platforms for creatives within the city. Through this work she discovered the power of social media for connecting with not only her local community but those around the world. She is excited to work with Film2Future to continue building our community of future filmmakers and those that support them across all digital platforms!
