2026 INTENSIVE
ANIMATION Program

Are you Interested in a career in Hollywood?

Take your creative ideas from script to screen with Film2Future’s intensive filmmaking programs! In Film2Future, you will learn the filmmaking process from more than 250 professionals working in the entertainment industry. Past speakers include Tim Miller (Director,  Deadpool),  Kristen Schaal (Actor, Bob’s Burger), and Chris Miller and Phil Lord (Writers/Producers, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse). During the summer, each student works in a team to complete a short film.

Join our community of emerging filmmakers and create a short animatic as you learn from industry professionals!

During the program you’ll learn the full filmmaking process including pitching, writing, directing, editing, and marketing.

After graduating from Film2Future, students will have a resume, portfolio, and professional network of Hollywood creatives, legendary filmmakers, and thought leaders from across the entertainment and media landscapes. After completing one of Film2Future’s Intensive Filmmaking Programs, students gain access to more free year-round trainings and networking opportunities as well as career development support, including connecting students with entry level paid positions and internships to launch their careers. 

High school students (14-18 years old) in Los Angeles County are eligible to apply. 

Film2Future programs are entirely FREE to students and families.

We provide all necessary technology, supplies, and transportation to in-person program days.

By joining Film2Future, you become a part of a community of over 200 emerging filmmakers along with over 1,000 industry professionals working together to shaping the future of film. All of our programing is free to students and their families, and students are provided all tech, transportation, and supplies they need to participate.

Eligibility:

  • 14-18 years old on June 1, 2025
  • Enrolled in high school at time of application
  • Residing or going to school in Los Angeles County
  • Available and committed to attending all programming as scheduled

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Programming begins in April and continues through August. Students are expected to attend and fully participate in all scheduled programming as outlined below.

SPRING INSTRUCTION

Weekday Series: Each student will participate in at least one weekly series that will run from April through May, 6pm-8pm over Zoom. Series cover different topics such as Storyboarding, Critical Film Watching, or Post-Production.

Saturday Workshops: Required intensive educational programming each Saturday from April 11 through May 30, 9:15am-5:30pm

SUMMER  PITCH AND PRODUCTIONS

Monday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 27, 9:30am-5:00pm, every day except for Sundays                       

Monday, July 7 through Saturday, August 9, 9:15am-6:30pm, every day except for Sundays                         Work after program hours will be required

ANIMATION PROGRAM

Whether you want to work in animation specifically or see yourself working in live action production, advertising, or one of the many areas of the entertainment industry, Film2Future’s Intensive Animation Program provides valuable learning and networking opportunities to prepare you for a career in Hollywood! You will learn skills such as pitching, writing, shot composition, character and background design, editing, motion graphics, sound design, and voice actor direction. During the summer, you will work in a team to complete an animatic short.
